Stencel was deployed to Operation Enduring Freedom - Afghanistan (OEF 2005) as a civilian combat artist with the former USAF Art Program to document to the mission of the United States Air Force through his art. He was an active member of the "Invitation Only" Art Program for 12 years ...more

His art has been included in the permanent collections of the National Museum of Naval Aviation, the United States Air Force Art Collection/Pentagon, the U.S. Army’s permanent art collections as well as private and corporate collections.

Currently, Tony has decided to pursue less strenuous art "experiences", focusing on traveling rural backroads of the Midwest, painting his watercolors, taking reference photography and keeping his sketchbooks current. He is kept busy as a Dad to 3 kids, 11,16, and 18 and a "special needs" dog.

He holds a degree from the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design, studied at the Disney Institute as well as
attending seminars and workshops from nationally recognized artists.
